We have never met nor probably ever will. Regardless, I could not read the news about the death of your brother Zach without acknowledging the grace, strength, beauty, and love contained in each word of your post. Like others before me, I found the AT at a time in my life when I truly needed saving. I am still here, still dreaming, still pursuing, still marveling, because of the joy and lessons learned while following that grey and brown, root and rock strewn path through the trees. My heart goes out to you and your family. You are a young man of such gifts. Gifts that I, for what my opinion is worth, am certain, will carry you far as they also carry the loved ones that still surround you. May the love of your friends and family, and the love of your brother that has travelled on ahead, be a source of comfort for you during this time. I wish you the very best in your decision to continue down the path you are on. May it help bring to you the same awe, humility, exhileration, quietness, healing, acceptance, wonder, and joy that it brought to me. I am so very sorry for your loss.
